The winners of the 3rd UL Innovation Fund have been announced!

Rector of the University of Ljubljana, dr. Gregor Majdič, announced the recipients of this year’s Innovation Fund of Univesity of Ljubljana at the closing event of the UNI.MINDS festival.

The Innovation Fund’s evaluation panel has selected 4 projects for co-funding:

  1. From the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering: EASE – Innovative System for Cooling Electronic Devices

Team members: dr. Luka Lorbek, dr. Luka Porenta, dr. Andrej Kitanovski

2. From the Faculty of Electrical Engineering: Mobile Robotic System with Computer Vision for Control and Manipulation of tomato plants in a greenhouse.

Team members: Dr. Matjaž Mihelj, Dr. Sebastjan Šlajpah, Dr. Janez Perš, Dr. Vitomir Štruc, mag. Marija Ivanovska.

3. From the Faculty of Biotechnics: Invasive aspen from biogenic waste to highly nutritious organic fertiliser

Team members: Dr. Rozalija Cvejič, Dr. Rok Mihelič, Dr. Ana Slatnar, Dr. Polona Jamnik

4. Simultaneous detection of antimicrobial and anti-biofilm activity of active substances – development of a prototype application SIMBApp

Team members: dr. Anja Klančnik, dr. Meta Sterniša, dr. Jerica Sabotič

We are looking forward to the progress of this year’s 4 recipients and to the new 4th UL Innovation Fund call in the coming year.

The Innovation Fund of the University of Ljubljana co-funds promising innovative projects and helps them to reach a higher level of technological readiness. The Knowledge Transfer Office provides expert support, encouragement and networking with companies and other organisations in the innovation environment.
